Author profile: Adam Stepien

Adam Stepien is a researcher at the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland, Finland. Adam’s research interests are twofold. His doctoral project discusses interconnections between the Arctic and the realm of development assistance, with focus on the role of common identity, shared between cooperation partners, and the communication of experiential knowledge as a development project. In his other research activities, he deals with Arctic governance, legal issues, and socio-cultural changes, as well as Arctic indigenous politics. Earlier, he took part in a number of projects dealing with the EU’s role in the Arctic, as well as climate change impacts on indigenous and local communities in the region. Currently, he works primarily as an editor of the EU Arctic Impact Assessment report.
