Dr Basil Germond, SFHEA, FRGS, is a Full Professor at Lancaster University, UK. An expert in naval and maritime affairs he has published two books and in excess of 30 academic articles and book chapters on seapower, maritime security, and the geopolitics of the sea. He has recently advised public policy stakeholders on questions related to the maritime dimension of Global Britain as well as the impacts of climate change on maritime security.
