Author profile: Beken Saatçioğlu

Beken Saatçioğlu is assistant professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, MEF University, Istanbul. She holds an MA and a PhD from the University of Virginia, and has been a post-doctoral fellow at Freie Universität Berlin’s KFG Research College “The Transformative Power of Europe” and the Institute for European Integration Research (EIF) in Vienna. Her research interests include Europeanization, EU enlargement, democratization, Turkey-EU relations and Turkish politics. Her work has appeared in edited volumes and journals including Turkish Studies, Uluslararası İlişkiler [Journal of International Relations], Democratization, Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies, and Insight Turkey.
