Christian Kreuder-Sonnen is Assistant Professor (Jun.-Prof.) of International Organizations (political science) at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and currently a visiting scholar at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University (2019-20). He received his PhD from the Free University Berlin in 2016. In 2015, he was a junior visiting scholar at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. His research interests lie at the intersection of international law and international relations, with a focus on constitutional questions that arise in the context of international organizations gaining and exercising political authority. His book “Emergency powers of international organizations. Between normalization and containment” has been published by Oxford University Press. Other work on the European Union, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations has appeared in outlets such as the European Journal of International Relations, International Affairs, International Theory, the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Public Policy and Global Constitutionalism, among others.
