Daniel Burkett is a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales, where he previously completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with the Climate Justice stream of the Practical Justice Initiative. He completed a law degree and a Master’s in Philosophy at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, followed by a PhD in Philosophy from Rice University. His current research interests are in applied ethics and social and political philosophy – particularly where issues surrounding punishment and climate change intersect with considerations of state policy.
