David Carment is Professor of International Affairs at Carleton University and Editor of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal. His areas of research include conflict management, prevention and resolution, and Canadian foreign policy.

Joe Landry is a doctoral student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. His research interests include fragile states, civil war, forced migration, the security-development nexus, and terrorism.
