Author profile: David Jancsics

David Jancsics is a Professor at the School of Public Affairs at San Diego State University. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Previously, he taught at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rutgers University. His current research projects focus on border corruption, corruption networks, kinship and corruption, and the organization of corruption. He is the author of Sociology of Corruption: Patterns of Illegal Association in Hungary (2024, Cornell University Press). He consults with governments, international organizations and NGOs such as the United Nations, European Commission, U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, Transparency International, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Department of Justice, and has been selected as a Fulbright US Scholar for Hungary for 2024–25.
