Author profile: Frauke Urban and Johan Nordensvard

Dr. Frauke Urban is lecturer in environment and development at the Centre for Development, Environment and Policy (CeDEP) at the School of Oriental and African Studies SOAS. She is an environmental scientist specialising on the linkages between energy, climate change and development, with a regional focus on Asia, particularly China, India and Southeast Asia. Frauke is the Principal Investigator for the project “China goes global: a comparative analysis of the impacts of Chinese hydropower dams in low and middle income countries”, funded by the Economics and Social Research Council ESRC.

 

Dr. Johan Nordensvard is lecturer in social policy based at the University of Southampton. He specialises in the field of social policy and low carbon development, globalization, global climate governance and energy policy in both Europe and Asia, as well as education policy in developing countries.

 

They have recently written and edited a new textbook: Low Carbon Development: Key Issues (Routledge, 2013).
