Author profile: Liliana Lyra Jubilut and Christina M. Cerna

Liliana Lyra Jubilut has a PhD and a Master’s in International Law from Universidade de São Paulo, and a LLM in International Legal Studies from NYU School of Law. She is a Professor of the Post-graduate program in Law of Universidade Católica de Santos, where she coordinates the research group “Direitos Humanos e Vulnerabilidades” (“Human Rights and Vulnerabilities”).

Christina M. Cerna is a Mid-Career Fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford University; Adjunct Professor at Georgetown U. Law School and a Member of Amnesty International’s USA Board of Directors. Previously she was Principal Human Rights Specialist for the OAS (1979–2012), Chair, ILA’s International Human Rights Law Committee (2008–2016) and consultant to ASEAN (2007–2014) regarding the creation of its human rights commission (2007–2014).

Both authors are part of the Human Rights in times of emergency of the International Law Association. Christina is its co-chair and Liliana the alternate member from Brazil.
