Lisa Hultman is Associate Professor of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research focuses mainly on violence against civilians, peacekeeping, and civilian protection. Recent publications include “UN Peace Operations and Protection of Civilians: Cheap Talk or Norm Implementation?” in Journal of Peace Research; “United Nations Peacekeeping and Civilian Protection in Civil War” (with Jacob Kathman and Megan Shannon) in American Journal of Political Science; and “Beyond Keeping Peace: United Nations Effectiveness in the Midst of Fighting” (with Jacob Kathman and Megan Shannon) forthcoming in American Political Science Review.
