Maharani Hapsari is lecturer at Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. She holds an MA in International Development Studies and a PhD in International Development Studies from Nagoya University, Japan. Her research interests deal with the political economy of global environmental change, disasters and development, disasters and humanitarianism, and environmental justice movements. She currently coordinates Universitas Gadjah Mada-Osaka University Satellite Office on Disaster Management and Humanitarian Action at Universitas Gadjah Mada.
