Maria I. Leon Gomez Sonet holds a Master of Global Affairs, International Peace Studies, from the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. She has previously worked with the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America on issues regarding U.S. foreign policy to Latin America, human and immigration rights, and social justice. Maria also has experience working with the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in South Africa, Trust for the Americas, an organization affiliated to the Organization of America States in Washington, DC, and the Auschwitz Institute in New York.
