Author profile: Maribel Daño-Luna and Earl John Orio

Maribel Daño-Luna is a PhD Candidate at the School of Economics, University of Sydney where she also works as a teaching assistant. In 2018 and 2019, she co-authored “Drivers of Philippine SME Competitiveness: Results of 2018 SME Survey” and “Scaling-up: Women-owned businesses face unique barriers”. Her PhD thesis examines the economics of inclusive business.

Earl Orio is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Mass Communication in the University of the Philippines Diliman. He is currently engaged in project management handling various projects related to development planning, resource mobilization, and citizen participation in local governance in the Philippines. He received his Master’s in Political Economy at the School of Law and Governance in the University of Asia and the Pacific.
