Author profile: Marisa Tramontano

Marisa Tramontano holds a PhD in Sociology and a Graduate Certification in Gender Studies from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, as well as a MS in Global Affairs from New York University. She teaches political sociology and sociological theory at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, gender studies at Pace University, and has taught sociology and gender studies at Hunter College. In addition to her teaching and writing, Tramontano is a community organizer with Bay Ridge for Social Justice in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
