Miguel A Altieri is a Chilean agronomist and an Emeritus Professor of Agroecolog. He taught at Berkeley for 38 years and has written more than 250 scientific papers and more than 40 books, among them Agroecology: the science of sustainable agriculture and Agroecology: science and politics. He is now a part time farmer in the highlands of south west Antioquia, Colombia and serves as co-director of CELIA.
