Motoko Tanaka is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law in Miyazaki Sangyo-keiei University in Japan. She obtained her B.A. from International Christian University, Tokyo, in 1995, her M.A. (Modern Japanese Literature) from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, in 2001, and her doctorate in Asian Studies from UBC in 2011. She specialized in modern Japanese fiction and Japanese subculture.
