Author profile: Nguyen Khac Giang

Nguyen Khac Giang is a Visiting Fellow at the Vietnam Studies Programme, ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute. He was formerly Head of the Political Research Unit of the Hanoi-based Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR). His academic work has appeared in, among others, Asian Journal of Political Science, Contemporary Southeast Asia, Constitutional Political Economy, New Zealand Journal of Asian Studies and Asia & the Pacific Policy Studies. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He is a frequent commentator on Vietnamese affairs and writes extensively for Vietnamese and English news outlets.
