Author profile: Hanjin Park, Mary Ochiai and Jiachen Shi

Hanjin Park is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Tulane University. He completed his M.A. in Political Science at Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. His research interests include inter-Korean relations, North Korean politics, and East Asian politics. He has worked as a secretary to a member of the National Assembly of South Korea and as a researcher at the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU).

Mary Ochiai is a bachelor’s candidate in Political Science at Tulane University. Her current research interests include political economy, Japanese politics, and East Asian politics. She is currently a student ambassador and state ambassador for United to Beat Malaria of the UN Foundation.

Jiachen Shi is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Tulane University. He received his M.A. in International Relations from the University of Liverpool. His research interests include U.S. foreign policy and U.S.-China relations. His articles have been featured in The Diplomat, the National Interest, and 9DASHLINE.
