Richard W. Coughlin received his Ph.D. from Syracuse University in 1993 and is currently an Associate Professor of Political Science at Florida Gulf Coast University.  Correspondence may be sent to rcoughli@fgcu.edu.  His writings have appeared in E-IRThe Journal of Political Science EducationCrossings: the Journal of Migration and Culture, and Latin American Perspectives.  Coughlin is also the author of Fragile Democracy:  A Critical Introduction to American Government.
