Author profile: Rocio Arredondo and Javier Castellon

Rocio Arredondo Botello has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), she also has a PhD in economics from UABC in Co-tutelle with the University of Castilla La Mancha, Spain obtaining the distinction cum laude with her thesis entitled “Measuring Decent Work in Mexico”. She has collaborated with several civil society organizations and has participated in research projects and currently works as a professor in the School of Social and Political Sciences at UABC.

Francisco Javier Castellón Najar has a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) and a Master’s degree in economics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He also holds a PhD in economics from UABC in Co-tutelle with the Universidad Castilla La Mancha, Spain. He has collaborated in research projects at UdeG and UNAM on diverse topics such as Mexican macroeconomics, labor markets and economic growth, and has worked as a professor at universities such as Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit (UAN).
