Author profile: Ross Anthony

Dr Ross Anthony is a research fellow at the Centre for Chinese Studies. As a Gates Scholar, Ross recently completed his Ph.D in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. His research focused on issues of urban development in the Western regions of China where he spent fourteen months doing fieldwork. Ross has lectured at the University of Cambridge and previously at National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan. His research at the Centre for Chinese Studies focuses on issues of Chinese security within sub-Saharan Africa. Other research interests relating to China include: governance, nationalism, ethnic minority policies and historiography.
