Author profile: Sarah Mady, Nelly P. Abboud and Alexander A. Bauer

Sarah Mady is a PhD student in archaeology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) and an adjunct lecturer at Lehman College, CUNY. She is originally from Lebanon where her research is focused on lived religion during the Late Antique and Medieval periods.

Nelly P. Abboud is a museum educator. She is the founder of an NGO called “Museolab” that promotes Lebanese cultural heritage through hands-on interactive experiences.  Her research focuses primarily on cultural heritage, public archaeology, and museum education in Lebanon.

Alexander A. Bauer is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Queens College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. His research focuses on the archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea regions and on cultural heritage law and policy, and he has served as the Editor of the International Journal of Cultural Property since 2004.
