Dr. Scopas S. Poggo is currently Associate Professor of African-American and African Studies at The Ohio State University, Mansfield campus. His research interests include the North-South conflicts in the Sudan in the 20th and 21st centuries and the social history of the Kuku people of South Sudan. He is the author of The First Sudanese Civil War: Africans, Arabs, and Israelis in the Southern Sudan, 1955-1972 (New York:Palgrave Macmillan, 2009).
