Shivani Singh is a PhD student in the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University, UK. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hindu College, Delhi University, and an MA and MPhil in Politics with a specialisation in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has worked as a researcher, and later as a consultant, in the Nuclear Security Programme at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, New Delhi. She is the Chair of the Postgraduate Network Committee, British International Studies Association (BISA). She is the recipient of Aber doc and President’s scholarships.
It is high time that states took stock of the emerging threats and the unaddressed gaps that run the risk of further weakening the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
