Author profile: Silviya Lechner

Dr Silviya Lechner is a senior visiting research fellow at Free University Berlin, Germany, and at King’s College London, UK, where she was previously an assistant professor at the Department of War Studies. She specialises in political philosophy, IR theory, and philosophy of action and has a special interest in the Frankfurt School of social theory. Her publications include Hobbesian Internationalism: Anarchy, Authority and the Fate of Political Philosophy (Palgrave 2019), Practice Theory and International Relations (Cambridge 2018, with Mervyn Frost) as well as numerous articles which have appeared in the Journal of International Political Theory, the Review of International Studies, Oxford Research Encyclopedia, Global Constitutionalism, the Hague Journal of Diplomacy, and the American Journal of Bioethics.

Adorno further alerts us to the threat that Fascism might reappear in novel historical forms. If he is right, all contemporary societies in late modernity contain fascist elements in one form or another.
