Tania Gómez Zapata, Ph.D., is an Associate Lecturer at Universidad de las Américas Puebla (México) in the Department of International Relations and Political Science, and the Department of Communication. She is researching US-Mexico relations and public diplomacy. Her latest publication is the chapter ‘Civil Society as an Advocate of Mexicans and Latinos in the United States: The Chicago Case (Challenges and Opportunities)’ in Latin American Diasporas in Public Diplomacy (Palgrave Macmillan: USA, pp. 189-213), co-edited by Maria De Moya (DePaul University, Chicago) and Vanessa Bravo (Elon University, North Carolina).
