Dr. Thomas Muhr works on the political sociology and human geographies of globalisation, development and regionalisms, with a focus on Latin America-Caribbean in the global context. He currently lectures at the Institute of Sociology at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Prior to this, he held positions in Development Studies at the University of Vienna and Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz, Austria, and a post-doctoral research position at the University of Bristol, UK, sponsored via a highly competitive UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) post-doctoral scholarship. He obtained his PhD (also ESRC funded) from the University of Bristol, as well as two Master degrees, both with Distinctions.
This outstanding volume is a crucial contribution to the ongoing paradigmatic struggle over how to make sense of the revolutionary transformations of Latin America.
