Toni Čerkez obtained his doctorate in International Politics from Aberystwyth University. He is currently a Lecturer of International Relations at Tallinn University. His work focuses on political theory (Hannah Arendt, Yuk Hui, Bernard Stiegler, Bruno Latour, and Gilbert Simondon), political ontology of algorithms, drone theory, relational and de-colonial IR, the Anthropocene studies, and cosmology in IR. At the moment, he is preoccupied with keeping warm in Estonia.

Gaza has been an open-air prison camp since at least 2005, but it is current drone use that makes it an example par excellence of how life can be managed by air occupation.
