Valsamis Mitsilegas is Professor of European Criminal Law, Dean for Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) and Head of the Department of Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). He is currently serving as Academic Lead for Internationalisation for the University. He is the Inaugural Director of the Queen Mary Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) and has been the Director of the Queen Mary Criminal Justice Centre since 2011. His latest books are The Criminalisation of Migration in Europe (Springer, 2015) and EU Criminal Law after Lisbon (Hart, 2016).
