Victor A. O. Adetula is a Professor of International Relations & Development Studies at the University of Jos (Nigeria), and most recently the Claude Ake Visiting Professor at the University of Uppsala & Nordic Africa Institute, Uppsala (2013). Previously he was Head of the Division of Africa and African Integration at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, Lagos (2012), Nelson Mandela Chair of African Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2011), and Director of the Centre for Development Studies, University of Jos (1998- 2001). His most recent publications include: “Reciprocity in Nigeria’s External Relations: Revisiting Bolaji Akinyemi’s Doctrine of Consultation” in Nigeria and the World: A Bolaji Akinyemi Revisited (2012); “Impact of Liberal Democracy on Nigeria’s External Relations: Analysis of gains, Opportunities and Challenges in Nigerian Journal of International Studies (2013); and “Regional Integration and the Quest for Peace and Stability in Africa” in R/evolutions (2014).
