From all of the threats falling under the cyber umbrella, acts carried out to cause terror and loss of life through damage to critical infrastructure present the largest danger.
This paper will examine the development of NATO throughout the post-Cold War era within the framework of the ‘neo-neo’ debate. Following a brief outline of the two theories, the activities of the alliance will be considered thematically, with conclusions drawn as to the strengths and weaknesses of each perspective in offering explanatory accounts.
Politically, the EU is far off from being a cosmopolitan polity. This comes down to the fact that political participation does not cross borders. State sovereignty still plays a crucial part in the make up of the EU. Yet, there is a fundamental issue here. Increased democratic functions would need to occur before ever the mildest of David Held’s proposals could become reality.
The 2003 invasion of Iraq clashed with the longstanding standards set forth by the Just War theory, and any attempt to defend it as such is a misinterpretation of the concept of Just War.
